Cruise, who will turn 63 in 2025, continues to impress with his physical fitness and willingness to perform stunts without stunt doubles. He recently stated in an interview with Variety, “If I’m not going to do it myself, why bother?” His dedication to his craft remains a benchmark in the age of CGI and green screen.

Filming for Mission: Impossible 8 has begun in New Zealand, where the crew is recreating a large-scale glacier chase scene. It’s already known that the film will feature new allies and enemies, as well as the return of the iconic character Luther Stickell, played by Ving Rhames.

The screenplay, written by Christopher McQuarrie, is rumored to raise the stakes to cosmic levels—literally. One key sequence will be filmed aboard a real spacecraft in collaboration with SpaceX. This will be the first time in film history that an actor has filmed outside of Earth’s orbit.

Fans are thrilled, but concerned: if this is the finale, will Ethan Hunt get a fitting conclusion? For 28 years, he has become a symbol of perseverance, loyalty, and humanity in the world of espionage. His departure could leave a void that will be difficult to fill.
